Presidente da Venezuela pode ter divulgado informações falsas sobre El Petro

O token El Petro, o primeiro criado por uma nação, teria arrecadado US$5 bilhões em sua oferta inicial de moeda (ICO, na sigla em inglês), segundo o presidente da Venezuela Nicolás Maduro. O anúncio, de acordo com a rede Estatal Telesur, foi realizado durante um encontro com a militância do Partido Socialista Unido da Venezuela (PSUV) na Plaza Bolívar em Caracas, capital do país, no qual o presidente também disse que a criptomoeda impactou positivamente no fortalecimento das reservas internacionais do país.

O Criptomoedas Fácil junto com a CCN fez uma levantamento exclusivo que revela que os números anunciados por Maduro tem grandes possibilidades de serem falsos, dado que o valor anunciado é impossível de ter sido arrecadado. Além disso, a pré-venda ainda segue em curso até o dia 20 de março e o próprio vice-presidente da nação, Tareck El Aissami, convocou os bancos nacionais à adquirirem a moeda durante a fase de ICO.

No entanto, é impossível que os apelos de Tareck sejam atendidos, afinal, de acordo com o White paper que consta no site oficial da iniciativa, foram colocados a venda exatamente 38.400.000 tokens, valendo US$60 cada token (sem contar o desconto de 60% anunciado pelo governo durante esta fase), sendo assim, o máximo que o governo poderia arrecadar seria o US$2.304 bilhões, sem contar os descontos. Se Maduro diz a verdade em seu anúncio, não diz a verdade no documento oficial do projeto e em todos os anúncios anteriores feitos pelo próprio presidente, afinal, de acordo com a nova declaração, não só todos os tokens foram vendidos, como a venda excedeu em 46% o montante anunciado oficialmente (isso sem contar os descontos).

A notícia coloca outra contradição na iniciativa venezuelana, que já enfrenta inúmeros pontos em aberto. Segundo o artigo publicado pela Coindesk, agência de notícias especializada no universo cripto, até agora, todos aqueles que teriam adquirido o El Petro não receberam seus fundos e ao acessar o livro de contas de operações da NEM é possível identificar que o endereço detentor do Petro ainda possui propriedade, no momento da escrita da matéria, de todos os 100 milhões de tokens. Conforme reportado pelo o Criptomoedas Fácil, além dos problemas do White Paper, existem diversas contradições relacionadas à moeda digital, que já tem até uma “irmã” anunciada: o Petro Gold.

Recente analistas do Brookings Institute em um artigo publicado em seu site advertiram que “existe um perigo muito real de que o Petro não apenas não consiga remediar os problemas econômicos da Venezuela, mas também enfraquecerá a integridade das criptogramas em grande escala” e que se o Petro se revelar tão sem valor quanto os analistas do think tank esperam, “tal realização e conseqüências podem, infelizmente, contribuir com a idéia de que as criptomoedas facilitam a fraude”.

O Congresso da Venezuela já declarou que a moeda é ilegal e inconstitucional e a Assembleia Nacional do país também denunciou recentemente a criptomoeda como uma fraude e uma ameaça para os potenciais investidores, por outro lado, a agência chinesa Dagong afirmou que o projeto é legítimo.

Ainda segundo Maduro, 3.523 empresários e 83 mil pessoas físicas de 127 países fizeram ofertas pela moeda digital. De acordo com El Aissami, o El Petro será leiloado para empresas privadas através da plataforma de divisas Dicom “em poucas semanas” e acrescentou que as empresas poderão usar a criptomoeda para pagar importações de matérias-primas.

A plataforma cambial da Venezuela, Dicom, é o local em que o governo lança uma moeda estrangeira. De acordo com o Finance Magnates , foi criada pela primeira vez em maio de 2017, com uma taxa de 2.200 bolívares para um dólar norte-americano. Em junho, a taxa aumentou para 2.640 bolívares por dólar. No início deste ano, a taxa subiu para 25.000 bolívares por dólar, enquanto no mercado negro um dólar custa 228.000 bolívares.
